September 2023 Tasting Notes

This month, we're going heavy on the whites as a farewell to the warm Summer months.
Cala Civetta Trebbiano di Toscana, Italy, 2022

Trebbiano is a native Italian grape grown primarily in Italy and France, but sometimes found in Spain and Portugual. This particular Trebbiano comes out of Tusacany (Toscana). This wine is part of our limited Small Vineyards collection and you're the first to try it!
True lemon color, light body, with medium-high acidity. Notes of citrus, sea breeze, and lemongrass, with a hint of minerality. Pairs with fish, pasta with white sauce, and cured meats. Exclusively paired with this month's feature recipe for Ceviche made with Locally Caught Sea Bass and Oregon Pink Shrimp.

Day Wines Dazzles of Light White Blend, Oregon, 2022
63% Chardonnay, 25% Sauvignon Blanc, 12% Melon de Bourgogne. Barrel aged in French Oak for 7 months.
Lemon color, medium body, medium acidity. Notes of mango, citrus, thyme, lily, white peach, honeycomb, and a slight brioche finish. Pairs well with seafood, and roasted vegetables.

Tacchino Trivoli Frizzante, Italy 2021

Frizzante is an Italian semi-sparkling wine. It's distinct in the fact that its bubbles are gentle and delicate, as opposed to the bigger, stronger bubbles that you find in Prosecco. This is also a part of our limited Small Vineyards collection.

Pale lemon color, light body, with medium acidity. Notes of flowers and stone fruit with a hint of toffee. You'll want to enjoy this on its own to savor its uniqueness.

Willful Seven Hills Vineyard Red Blend, Walla Walla OR, 2020
50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 50% Merlot. Rated 92 points by Wine Enthusiast.
Deep red color, full body, with robust tannin. Notes of dark fruit, black tea, flower, raspberry and cassis. In the true spirit of Summer's End, this pairs well with steak, spicy sausages, and BBQ.
